Vitamin B12 Injection

HCG Injections

Vitamin B12 injection for weight loss? Why not! Vitamin B12 injection and the HCG diet have been marketed in recent years as an effective way to lose weight. It plays a major role in how well your body function like supercharging your weight loss during the HCG Diet by enhancing your energy level brought by the faster metabolism.

What are B12 injections anyway?

Vitamin B12 is one of the eight B vitamins that helps your body convert foods into energy. It’s a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in foods like meat, fish, poultry, and dairy products. Since it’s water-soluble, it dissolves in the water and is not stored in the body. It must be replenished every day. Medically known as cobalamin, it’s one of the components of the vitamin B complex that your body needs but cannot produce.

The benefits of using vitamin B12 injections

Below are the health benefits of vitamin B12:

  1. Gives you an energy boost that’s why it is often included in much comprehensive wellness and weight loss programs.
  2. Vitamin B12 is a metabolic-boosting supplement. It helps boost your metabolism by breaking down fats and proteins to provide lasting energy during the HCG diet.
  3. Improves oxygenation and helps prevent memory loss and loss of neurons in the brain often associated with dementia. It’s one of the essential vitamins that help support a healthy nervous system.
  4. It’s a powerhouse that helps in the production of RNA and DNA, your body’s genetic materials.
  5. It plays a crucial role in weight loss and overall wellness.
  6. It is necessary for maintaining healthy skin, eyes, hair as well as healthy liver.
  7. Prevent anemia by aiding in the formation of DNA and red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body.
  8. Vitamin B12 plays a crucial role in the production of a chemical substance that affects mood.
  9. Another benefit of using vitamin B12 is its ability to lower the risk of heart disease like atherosclerosis by decreasing homocysteine.
  10.  Improve gut health. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to diarrhea, constipation, and loss of appetite.

Vitamin B12 works by converting the foods you eat into sugar and other types of fuel needed by your body to works properly. The way it works is different from other vitamins. For your body to absorb this vitamin, you need a substance called intrinsic factor made in the stomach.

What’s in the injection?

Vitamin B12 injection is basically just a large dose of B12. One-shot typically contains 1000 mcg or 1cc of B12. It should be administered intramuscularly once a week. We recommend to use 0.5cc every other day or every third day or 1cc a week. If you do not feel the effect, like a boost in energy levels, you may increase your hcg injections dosage.

While the recommended RDA for an adult is about 3 mcg a day, it is generally safe to take higher doses. You will not be able to make all B12 available and usable since it is water-soluble. A lot is wasted and passed by your body. The only way your body can use more B12 is to use it in a higher dose along with a healthy diet like the HCG diet.

Methylcobalamin versus Cyanocobalamin

There are two forms of vitamin B12-methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin.

  • Cyanocobalamin: It’s the most commonly supplemented form of vitamin B12 but synthetic in form. It is often added to foods. However, for the body to use this vitamin, it needs to be converted first into Methylcobalamin.
  • Methylcobalamin: It’s the naturally occurring form of vitamin B12. It’s the most bio-available form of B12 vitamin that can be absorbed by your body immediately. It is far more superior to cyanocobalamin for it remains in the body longer and at a higher level. It’s used primarily by your liver, brain, and nervous system. Most vitamin B12 injection uses Methylcobalamin as it provides B12 straight into the bloodstream for faster effects.

Vitamin B12 during the HCG Diet

Vitamin B12 is essential during the weight loss phase of the HCG Diet due to its ability to boost metabolism.  The surge in metabolism comes from the breakdown of fats and proteins resulting in a heightened energy level which helps provide your body with lasting energy despite the very low-calorie intake. Without vitamin B12 and other essential nutrients, your metabolism wouldn’t run smoothly.

A faster metabolism means you lose more a bit of your weight. Another advantage dieters experience using B12 shots during the HCG Diet is the lesser side effects compared when using the HCG hormone alone.

Vitamin B12 injection versus vitamin B12 oral supplements

Both vitamin B12 injection and vitamin oral supplements are effective in boosting metabolism but B12 injection is generally prescribed for weight loss than the oral form. It has to do with absorption and dosage. Taking the oral form of B12 is largely a waste of money. Most of what you swallow will be excreted out from your body while the B12 shot will bypass any digestive absorption issues and consequently the vitamin gets to where they are needed.

Vitamin B12 deficiency

Vitamin B12 deficiency can be sneaky and harmful. A severe deficiency of this vitamin can lead to deep depression, memory loss, paranoia, delusions, and more. It’s relatively common, especially among older people. There are many causes of vitamin B12 deficiency which include the inability of the body to absorb B12 because of the lower amount of stomach acid and excessive consumption of alcohol. Vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms may include:

  • Anemia
  • Fatigue
  • A swollen, inflamed tongue
  • Difficulty walking
  • Balance problems
  • Memory loss and other cognitive impairment
  • Digestive issues
  • Tingling and numbness in the finger and toes
