I saw this photo of myself on my husband’s phone taken earlier this year and was shocked with how awful I looked. I knew that something needed to change and I needed to act right then and there. I was determined to bring my physical and mental health under control, so I set out for a new challenge-dieting.

Although it’s not actually up my alley, I have no other options left. My first try was diet pills and shakes. I’ve tried taking them but nothing happens. Next was starvation. I’ve struggled with weeks of starvation but without any results. Even a low-calorie diet didn’t work for me as it makes me feel hungry all the time with little to no energy at all. And it makes me feel grumpy during the whole day of dieting. I have tried working out in the gym for long hours each week but I see no result. Finally, I’ve got the chance to do the HCG Diet and got the results I had been looking for.

The HCG Diet was new to me. What I know was HCG has something to do with pregnancy and not with weight loss. When I did a little research, I was quite amused to find out about its uses in dieting. I even find it quite fascinating to know how the hormone allows the body to get rid of excess fats. I didn’t think the HCG diet sounded too helpful at first. I wasn’t sure what to expect from doing the diet as I was looking to shed the pounds myself, however, after setting my sights on success and seeing others succeed it’s something, I knew would work for me too.

I started at 185 pounds in late September and dropped to 149 pounds before Christmas. I’ve done two rounds of 46 days. I followed the program to a T! It was very hard not giving the Thanksgiving temptations but so well worth it watching the scales go down daily. The first couple of days were hard, as I’m used to having a gawk at my plate or the foods while I’m cooking or preparing my meals. But I soon got into a habit of not doing so, and stay within the limit with no chewing since then. It was challenging doing the 500-calorie phase, but I was motivated after seeing results every morning. I couldn’t wait to get up each morning to see how much I’ve lost.  It takes routine and discipline but it’s doable. After a week into the diet, it becomes easy. I don’t feel hungry and I can see real results.

My original goal was to drop to at least 136 pounds before the holidays but I guess I have to set another target date, probably before summer comes to get to my goal weight. With just a little over 36 pounds gone from my frame, my clothes perfectly fit my new frame. I finally got to wear a little red dress I bought two years ago. After my husband, friends, and family’s skepticism they were now wanting to get involved.

The best part of the program is how good I felt about my body, the confidence and self-esteem boost it gave me, and how much compliment I received from everyone around me. With the new BMI range, which says I’m on “healthy weight” now and not “overweight”, I feel much better and yes, so much lighter than before. I’ve got tons of energy too and feel good about it.
