A Vegetarian on the HCG Diet

I’m a VEGETARIAN and the HCG Diet is for me! I am not a meat eater so I lose weight a little bit slower than most people do in the HCG Diet but it’ s perfectly OK. As long as I am losing weight then everything is fine.

Being a vegetarian on the diet is quite challenging. But this diet has been the only diet that has worked for me in 25 years. It has stopped my cravings for carbs and sugar. It has reset my metabolism so I can indulge in rich dessert occasionally.

My goal was to lose 20 pounds and I lost only 19 and that’s not bad at all. I started with my diet a day before Thanksgiving. I know, ‘kinda silly but that’s true.  I did a little cheating during that day but I hardly stalled. I lost 10 pounds during the first two weeks with the help of the hormone and the B12. Continued to lose another 9 pounds for the remaining days with the help of B12 and exercise. I took off a total of 19 pounds after the diet.

Here’s what I did

  1. I only use quinoa to replace for the meat protein during the first week of 500 calorie diet. The next week, I started substituting one meal a day for about a few days to see if I stalled. A ¼ cup of uncooked quinoa contains 206 calories, 38 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fibers and 7 grams of protein. Quinoa is a complete protein. It has 20 amino acids in each little seed.
  2. Fat-free plain Greek yogurt. I use this to mix with half or all of my strawberries or apples.
  3. Cottage cheese as a sub for protein works well. 100 grams of fat-free cottage cheese contains 70 calories and 5 grams of carbs.
  4. Eggs are my salvation as I was so sick of trying to choke down on quinoa. The protocol says that I consume only 1 whole egg plus 3 egg whites but I did make quite a few changes. I consumed 2 whole eggs instead of later.
  5. Shirataki noodles mixed with Miso broth are also great. It’s calorie free and oil-free.
  6. I have tried eating the Gardein beef burger and it tastes so delicious. It tastes like real homemade meat burgers.
